CSS scroll-axis-lock

Try scrolling the grid below using a gesture (e.g. touchpads or touchscreens); a “fling” gesture also works. Scrolling will usually get locked to the axis you started scrolling into, ignoring subtle changes to the other axis.

By setting scroll-axis-lock to none you can disabled that scroll axis locking, allowing true diagonal free-panning from the start of the gesture.

⚠️ Not Supported: Your browser does all changing the scroll locking behavior with scroll-axis-lock. Try this demo in Chrome 153 or newer.
